MOON MAGICK
There are many different rituals that witches do during the full moon. One particular ritual is called 'Drawing Down The Moon'. This ritual involves raiseing your arms up to the moon and "drawing" it's energy to you, a form of Moon Worship as it was originally explained to me. For the Christian Witch this can create a serious problem since most Christian Witches see the moon as a creation of our God and not God himself and therefore through prayer, we draw upon his power. I recently purchased a book by Raven Silver-Wolf, Book of Shadows For the Solitary Witch. If you don't have this book than I would highly suggest buying it. ( I have added the link to the left, just click on the book) Anyway's, she explains the ritual like this. In the Wiccan belief, the Sun represents God and the Moon represents the Godess. As the sun goes down it reflects a light off of the moon and then the moon shines that light upon the earth. Now if we look at in a more spiritual form, The Sun or Father shines his power and essance to the Moon or Godess/Holy Spirit, who in turns, reflects his energy upon us, so when we raise our hands to the moon , we are drawing our Father's power into us. Christ lives within us and because he walked the earth and was born of the flesh, in essance, through the love of Christ, we receive the gift of the Father.
This ritual is typically reserved for more spiritual matters or matters that need more power behind it to manifest, such as seious healing request, ect. Because you are tapping into the power of the divine, it should not be used for light or insignicant requests.
It's a very simple ritual, but you should always open a circle for this ritual. So to begin, simply open your circle, call your Quarters or Angel's ( I always use Archangel Micheal and Gabriel) to guard and protect your circle.Quietly meditate or pray about your request. Make sure you are specific on your request. Raise your hands towards the moon. Cup your hands slightly inward as if you are receiving. Invision an endless stream of white light of the Father being sent to the Godess. The invision that white light pouring through her and into you. You can take this a step further and invision Christ standing above you and the light flowing through him and then into you. Allow the white light to flow through every part of your body. Feel your body being engulfed by the white light and the power building. When you feel the power at it's highth, send that power out into the universe directing it specifically to your purpose or request. (If it's for enlightment or knowledge on a specific situation, notice any signs that you see or mess ges that you hear). Invision that white light like a arrow flying straight towards your goal. When you are finished, always make sure to thank them for their help and assistance. Lower your hands and if you intended to give an offering this would be the time to do it. Spend some time with spirit, if you desire talking about other things as well. (Your energy for your request has already been sent out, so don't sabotage it by repeating your request or worring that it may not work) When you are finishes, release the Quarters/Angels and close your circle.
